It's time for one of my occasional traffic rants. What the **** is going on at Busch Corner ?. Some bright spark decided at some point in the last 72 hours to dig a hole in the left hand hand just after the bus stop as you approach Busch Corner from Brentford on London Road, so traffic at the junction is reduced to one land instead of two. I drove (well crawled past after a 15 minute queue) past around 09.10 yesterday morning and there's this pathetic little hole with the whole lane coned off and absolutely no-one doing any work. Today I didn't even bother queuing and U-turned and came down the A4 then back down Syon Lane and needless to say yet again there's absolutely no activity whatsoever. I drove up London Road towards Brentford at 18.45 on Tuesday night and as a consequence of said abandoned hole traffic was queuing up all the way back to before Brentford High Street (a queue of at least 1 mile). It's the same in the mornings. But that's ok is it ?. Chris/Local Councillors - why does this keep happening ?. Why are utility companies continually allowed to dig up the road in the Borough and just leave it so the residents and road users (both cars and buses) have to endure massive delays to their journeys. It is a disgrace, I've lived and worked in many London boroughs over the last 11 years but traffic in our Borough, particularly in the Brentford & Isleworth area, crawls along at a typically average lower speed than the West End. End of rant :-( |
