In the old days..40 years ago... many will remember that the railway line crossed over the Great West Road just adjacent to the Firestone's Factory..and then travelled behind "Hazel Close,on the Syon Estate..and then arrived at Brentford Town Station high up and overlooking Brentford Bridge.
Another railway bridge across the London Road used to take the railway over THE HAM area..over the Canal by another bridge at Boar's Head Yard into the busy,dirty dusty Brentford Dock! You can see the remnats of these bridges in several locations.

So the railway line has been retained to take waste from the big Yellow Building..where our local dustmen take their dustcarts. (no recycling of this waste it seems!!). I wonder where the trains go when they leave Brentford and how often do they depart with that long line of trucks??
