Excuse me, but after 30 years of Brentford 'coming up in the world' it now really is. I much prefer it to Kew, where we lived for 40+ years before our move across the river. So why so many embittered moaners? This forum has an awful lot of them. OK Brentford's not a prime property location like Kew where house prices are still rising but the secondary areas like ours tend to catch up again when the bad times end. And we are not too far away from seeing the end of our very nasty, incompetent, corrupt government, with an unelected PM, which gave itself a huge majority in parliament for just 43% of the vote, against a big majority of anti Tory votes. Shameless! They've even tried to subvert the London Mayoral vote, with unnecessary ID requirements for younger people (oldies can use a Freedom Pass but student cards are invalid) and a regression to the disgustingly undemocratic FPTP voting system, shared in Europe with only the Belarus dictatorship. At least it means those Tories could be almost wiped out if they get around 25%. On a much lighter note we beat Sheffield United 2-0 today. Premiership survival looking likely. Brilliant Brentford! |
