3 weeks ago today I went to my doctor (Albany Practice) to enquire about the flu jab. I was told they had not yet received them but that I would receive a text message when they did. I said I won't receive a text because I don't use a mobile phone. So the receptionist then said they would send an appointment. So off I went and waited. On Sunday I had a conversation with someone who asked whether I had had the jab and I said I was still waiting to hear about it but I decided to go again today as time is marching on, only to discover they have now run out of the vaccine for over 65s. They have ordered more which should arrive on about 13 October but they can't make appointments before they receive it. Does everyone else have to chase their doctor to make appointments or is it normal for them to contact you? Years ago when I was 60 I did receive an appointment for the flu jab which I attended only to be told I wasn't entitled to one as I was only 60 but I don't remember ever being contacted since then so I am just wondering what is normal. |
