| Typical government wheeze. They never, ever, think things through to their conclusion. Someone has what looks like a bright idea and off they go - no-one ever says - what if? As a former civil servant I can tell you that questioning some of these schemes results in you being told you are just 'being negative'. I hate to think how much actually asking people at the sharp end what they think before going hell for leather on someone's seemingly brilliant idea could potentially save the taxpayer. |
