| So much of Brentford's industrial heritage is disappearing, and so many families who have lived in the town for generations are moving, which will mean losing the information to inform the next generations to come. I wondered what plans Ballymore have for St. Lawrence's Church, which would really lend itself to a waterways museum as so much of that heritage involved the families who went up and down the Grand Union canal. It's a way of life that no longer exists and it seems to me to be such a shame that a lovely building cannot be utilised to show what Brentford, and the lives of working families was really like. Obviously this would cost a lot of money, but it cannot be beyond the wit of man, or the pockets of developers, to work with the local community and bring back a building from the past to inform the future? |
