| Gill, I have no reason to doubt that you are correct in your largely irrelevenat analysis of how Steve Curran's office affairs are organised. I have no wish to rush to the defence of Steve Curran but I certainly don't need to be told the blindingly obvious fact that local authority services are paid partly out of Council Tax revenue. I don't have the time to look at exactly how Hounslow's expenditure is funded but, at a national level, you should know that the sources of funding for local government are approximately 60% from central government, 18% from business rates, and 22% from council tax. All of this money comes from the business and personal taxpayers but far from all of it comes from council tax. |
