You're right it's good to look back on memorable Christmases with amusement. The one my grandmother used to talk about was where the dog ran off with the turkey which once retrieved was served up as if nothing had happened. The story was told many years later and as she always said "What the eye doesn't see the heart doesn't grieve about." There was one where the Christmas pudding was thrown across the dining room.... Another when no-one remembered/knew where the cool place was that the turkey had been put the evening before to be safe away from the cats... Let's hope that 2017 will be better than 2016! |
