Mo Farah went to Isleworth & Syon School having attended Feltham Community School where he met the inspirational Alan Watkinson P.E. teacher who spotted the potential in him. Alan Watkinson won a prestigious award from the Daily Telegraph for his work recently. Will someone, anyone, please pull up the next government minister who bangs on about legacy and school sports and ask why then, if they are so bloody bothered, they allowed Michael Gove to break up the growing and successful School Sports Partnership the last government brought in. This put P.E. teachers and gifted students into schools that needed help and importantly into primary schools. Apparently Gove didn't like it as it was a Labour initiative - pillock! Actually it was more to save the £160m funding. |
