"Ecumenical" derives its meaning from the Greek word for the inhabited world – i.e. “everybody”. Usually used in terms of councils trying to unite churches of differing persuasions. Judith Sheindlin of the eponymous reality show uses the word to describe her policy of being equally critical of men and women if they have done the wrong thing. The judge in my case was careful to be critical of me where he could, not just of BW. |
