Call for any willing volunteers to assist with the activities listed below. Duties are not difficult! Just manning buildings/handing out leaflets/directing visitors who are unfamiliar with the park. If you have a couple of hours to spare and can help on the 18th or are interested in helping with future events, please contact Vanda Foster at the Museum vanda.foster@laing.com. If not, please do pop along and enjoy the free events and spread the word. Many thanks. Gunnersbury Park Open day - 18 Sept 2011 Explore Gunnersbury Park. A chance to see our historic buildings and take part in a range of free family activities. At the Potomac Lake Pond dipping: 11-11.45am and 2-2.45pm. Have a go at fishing: Drop-in sessions 11am-3pm. Open House London: 11.30am-5pm. View inside the Temple and Princess Amelia’s Bathhouse Meet our own ‘Princess Amelia’, a costumed interpreter in the Bathhouse: 11.30am-5pm. She will explain the 18th Century fashion for grottoes and outdoor bathing, as well as sharing some rather unusual health and beauty secrets The Museum will be open as usual and there are tours of the Victorian kitchens from 1-4.30pm Meet outside Gunnersbury Park Museum for Mini beast safari: 12.15-1pm. Tree Walk: 3pm Bat Walk: 7pm No booking required but places are limited. All children must be accompanied by an adult. |
