Yesterday evening while driving through Brentford, I saw two well built men cross the road towards a youth, they pounced on him and began frog marching him down the road and into a dead end street. I had no idea what was happening but it didn't look good the youth clearly didn't want to go, both his arms were put up his back to stop him struggling. I had a few minutes earlier seen at least 9 officers surrounding a young women at Brentford station she was being frisked by a WPC; at the top of the bridge over the railway another 3 police cars were parked and at least two more officers were present so I didn't expect to wait long. However the operator found herself having to chase the police up as she felt the delay was to long the first police car that come along the high road has its siren on but went passed; a few minute later another car came with 4 officers in it there was no sense of urgency dispite the nature of the call. I explained what I had seen and told them that a women had, since my call said the young man was drunk and that the people marching him off were not abducting him just 'taking care of him. I had left all my details with the police operator as well as descriptions of all three people, so I got in my car and left. I got less then 300 yards when the police car that was supposed to be attending the situation came up behind me and put on its siren; I stopped and found my self being accused of smelling of alcohol when I lent into the car to give details of what I had seen, The officer TX361 then decided to start searching my car and then accused me of drinking from a bottle in the car. The bottle was a root growth promoter which I was taking to a customer along with some other goods; it did not in any way look like alcohol and was clearly unopened with the fairly chunky seal still being in place. In the end the officers 2 of; (the other 2 presumably dealing with what ever had coursed my to phone them) did not have a working breathalyser so had to let me go. No apology was offered over the accusation or the illegal search or the general bad attitude displayed by TX361. I told the officers that the next time I see some one being possibly abducted I would mind my own business and let whatever was happening happen; I was told not to be cheeky in a manner that was clearly and deliberately threatening, I would be arrested for complaining about my treatment!!!!!!! I did not smell of alcohol as I had not drunk any for at least 21 hours, if anything I would have smelt of Garlic and basmatic vinegar which had been on the salad I had eaten earlier with some very spicy and hence smelly Fajitas, none of which could possibly be confused for the smell of alcohol, unless one had little or no sense of smell. Personally I believe that this was just another example of the on going harrasement of myself and family, unless of course this oficer TX361 treats all witnesses as badly as he did me. I phoned to make a complaint around 10 am this morning and am waiting for the duty officer to get back in touch, I wont be holding my breathe as I expect a long wait! |
