I've always said that if elected on 6 May I want to be a constituency MP. That's why I'm inviting local residents to post suggestions here or email me ideas for my first question to the new Prime Minister, should I be elected as the constituency's new MP. Your question could be anything from the local to a global concern. I am making no assumptions about the result of the election: you, the voters, will decide. What I hope I am making clear is that if I am elected I would endeavour to develop a different, stronger relationship with local people. Actively encouraging you to propose questions that I ask in parliamentary questions is just the first step. My priority is to be accessible to you and be your voice in Parliament. If I am elected this is the one of many changes I would introduce to ensure that my parliamentary work reflects the needs and interests of the people of Chiswick, Brentford, Hounslow, Isleworth, Gunnersbury and Osterley. Suggestions should be texted to 07788 116159 or emailed to hi@andrewdakers.com by midnight on Monday 3 May -- or posted here. The most common five questions will then feature in a poll on www.andrewdakers.com through to election day – 6 May– when the most popular question will be announced. I have also explained this in a short video message: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F3n5k7mGzuQ (Note the slightly extended deadline above!) Best wishes and thank you, Andrew |
