Hi Christina, She could buy all she wants in Hounslow(though it is not the nicest place to shop).There is a virtually 24 hrs massive ASDA.Not sure about student accom. but Quillam's eastae agents on Brentford High St. do lets. They are also quite involved in a couple of community projects like moving a war memorial to a more suitable place so they are doing a bit for Brentford not just taking. Bus links and overground trains are good but there is no tube stn. the nearest being Osterley or Boston Manor. Stanstead is a fair distance(poss 45 miles?)I think. There's your usual Tesco's .The high st. is nothing to write home about but it is a friendly community,all things considered. Good luck to her.
