This happened to me, too, again this morning at 0912.

The packed 65 arrived at Christchurch when suddenly the driver announced that the bus was terminating here.  We all got off.  The bus closed its doors and drove past everyone straight to the final stop at Ealing Broadway, where I saw it as I entered the station. 

What on earth is to be gained by getting passengers off the bus one stop before the end of the route, and then going there with an empty bus?  it just doesn't make sense.
