| I was taught by my parents to swim when I was small but that was just so that I could swim and I only learned one stroke - breaststroke. I took adult lessons after I had spent a lot of time watching swimming club children change from one stroke to another easily (warm up of several lengths of each four different strokes) as they trained and became very jealous of the obvious ease with which those who can swim front crawl well can move through the water once they have have succeeded in getting their breathing right. That's something that I could still improve on (together with the tumbleturns but I think I'll pass on those now)! |
