When built it will provide 209 new council homes to replace the 91 currently in the 3 blocks on the site, quite a few of which are now uninhabited because the state of Charlton House was very poor. 87% of the residents voted in favour of the redevelopment. Some have already been rehoused in the borough - many in Brentford - and the remaining ones will move in the next few weeks, largely into 'Block D' the new development on the High STreet which provides 96 new (and rather stunning) new flats. |
