I have recently been fascinated by the area around Smith Hill (at the bottom of Ealing Road and leading to the river) and likewise Goat Wharf, The Thames Path and Lot's Ait. Really gritty Brentford stuff. The tide is sometimes so low, just puddles, that it's tempting to wade....or certainly to do some mudlarking. In the basement of the Max Factor building, a small enterprise called STUDIO KLOX seems similar to the MAN'S SHED that operates in Isleworth Cemetery. Studio Flox is involved with cushion making, UPHOLSTERY, Furniture varnishing, yoga, and various other crafts and interests. This evening they were hosting a talk about the old Gas Works! A hidden gem of an area! |
