I exchanged emails with Mr Brent on Monday, the same day he raised the issue with me, and raised it with council officers the same day.
Someone from Hounslow Housing was in contact with the Brents yesterday morning and Mick wrote to various Ealing councillors and copied me this morning. I have been in contact with ward councillors in Ealing, who are in turn in touch with the Brents.
Of course it's important to get this dealt with urgently but there has been a lot of damage to trees - well over 100 trees or large branches down in both Hounslow and Ealing and the first priority was to deal with immediate danger, then blocked roads and pavements.
My Ealing colleague has asked the Ealing tree service to contact the Brents as a priority. For my part, I have asked our housing people to make sure that there is no immediate danger of further damage.
Moving the tree is unlikely to be straightforward: Hounslow Highways had to obtain a specialist 50 tonne crane (which are in high demand everywhere for the same reason) to clear a huge plane tree that had fallen in Chiswick and landed in the branches of another tree.
