This topic seems so far to be an "apoplectic of Brentford" echo chamber. Since moving across the river from Kew a few years back (always run by a Libdem or Tory council) I've been pleasantly surprised to find councillors here approachable and clearly wanting the best outcomes for everyone (within the horribly restrained resources now offered by central government after years of overdone austerity). I've met Katherine D, Steve C, Tony L and Guy L on quite a few occasions as well as our excellent MP, Ruth, and have found all of them approachable and helpful. I just do not recognise the dystopian alternative reality conjured up in earlier posts in this topic.
A lot of the grumps seem to be around lack of parking and that Ballymore hasn't completed its transformative waterside development. Ballymore seems to be making a real effort (no doubt for financial reasons) to make it a high quality development, linking town centre and waterside and with thriving restaurants and shops. Back in Kew we used to hear the quip "Brentford's coming up in the world, and has been for many years". Look's like it's really happening. |
