| Steve, the lack of progress on this site has nothing to do with the proposed office building on the corner of the A4 and Ealing Road. As I understand it, the original plans for residential development on Layton Road were knocked back - not least because of feedback from local residents and ward councillors - and a (somewhat) smaller scheme is now being proposed. There are discussions with the planners about this proposed scheme and I understand one of the sticking points is over the level of affordable housing to be provided. For reasons that always escaped me, the school development and the housing were part of the same planning application so that the school, which as I understand it made a somewhat premature announcement of its move, has now taken another unit within the GWQ development. As to litter, I wrote to Hounslow Highways on Friday pointing out that the fortnightly attention to Layton Road, which should have happened on Friday had not taken place, nor had it by Tuesday (I wrote again) but it does seem to have been litter picked by this morning (though there are still plenty of cigarette butts etc) I don't know about any bins being removed. Where were the bins that have been taken away, exactly? |
