| GROUNDSPERSON/LITTER PICKER/OUTDOOR CLEANER/JANITOR There is a vacancy at Syon Park in Brentford, West London for a groundsperson and outdoor cleaner. Syon Park is a historic estate, open to the public, with a large car park, a number of successful businesses and visitor attractions, including a Garden Centre, a Hotel, a soft play centre, and a Grade I listed historic house and grounds. You would be responsible for ensuring that the public areas look at their very best for all visitors and you will take pride in delivering high standards. Work will include the collection of litter, sweeping leaves and gravel, as well as tidying, cleaning visitor toilets and site maintenance. In addition, you will be responsible for mowing, edging, weeding and hedgecutting and the whole range of general gardening operations to ensure that public areas look their very best. You will need to be polite and friendly and able to assist and to direct our visitors. As part of the Syon team, you will be involved in a wide range of operations alongside the gardening team and also across the Estate, both indoors and outdoors, and you could find yourself involved in everything we do. Some machinery work will be involved, including hand tools, pedestrian mowers and ride on machinery but full training will be given. Safety of staff and visitors is a priority and full PPE will be provided. You will be expected to contribute to a safe working environment by reporting or removing potential hazards. A UK driving licence would be a distinct advantage. This is an active role, and you’ll spend a lot of the day on your feet so you should be physically fit, and you must be prepared to work outdoors in all weathers. This is a seasonal post for the summer of 2025, to start as soon as possible. This is a five-day post, to include regular weekend and bank holiday working, typically working Thursday to Monday inclusive. You will receive paid annual leave on a pro rata basis.
