I understand Vanessa's reluctance to do anything other than let people know about Janet's death- it is so traumatic for those of us in the local Labour Party who worked with her - I had a fantastic time with Janet from 1995 when I first was here until her election in a bye election in 1997 after the fantastic victory of the Labour Party in the GE 1997.It was great to serve the people of Isleworth North from 1998-2002 together on the council. The boundary changes meant Janet standing in Isleworth in 2002 - which allowwed Valerie Lamey to stand in Syon- we won, Janet, Vanessa and Pat lost but all were together.Vanessa and I spoke tonight- our and many in the local Labour Party see Janet with Valerie sharing a Gin and Tonic or two in the place I call heaven others somehere else. I am devastated - forgive typos if any. She died too young ith lots to do and I grieve for her Dad (aged 90) and her beloved sister Sue. |
