Paul, I took the liberty of e-mailing the three Syon councillors about the issue of traffic and received the following: "Dear Mr Sibley, Thank you very much for your email. We have just been informed by Thames Water that they expect the road will be re-opened on Monday evening at the latest. We have been overseeing the situation in and around London Road; being updated regularly by the Council officers and Thames Water as to the ongoing situation, both in terms of repair and traffic. As far as I was aware, just as with the council's reply to someone on the forum, the extreme cases of congestion were exceptions. I would have and still will convey any residents' issues arising from the flood to the council. Hopefully by Monday the traffic issue will have been resolved. If there are any other problems that you or anyone else are facing as a result of this or any other matter, please do contact me or my fellow ward Councillors either by email or telephone. Yours Sincerely, Cllr Jason Ellar Syon Ward" I can confirm that 237 and 235 buses were turning right from Syon lane into London Road at the Busch Corner junction and thanks to Jim we have photographic evidence. As to the comment about the traffic congestion being exceptions one wonders exactly how many occasions councillors and officers visited the area to monitor the situation? |
