A prompt reply LBH and the London Streets Traffic Control Centre have been monitoring traffic. A recent check showed currently that the queue on Syon Lane extends as far as the Syon Lane Station and is having no impact on the A4. There have been occasions when the Syon Lane queue has extended back to the A4, but from our observations these appear to be the exceptions and generally clear quite quickly. There is a banned right-turn at the junction of Spur Road and London Road and for this reason buses heading towards Hounslow are being diverted via the A4 through to Wood Lane and are not using Syon Lane/Spur Road. As soon as the closure was put in place LBH requested TfL to disable the right-turn from Twickenham Road into London Road and increase the timings for the north-south movement at Busch Corner. There was initially a problem in putting these changes "on-street" so it may be that the changes couldn't be done in the short-term. TfL have been asked for an update. |
