This morning I carried out what I accept is a very unscientific survey - I drove down Hamilton Road to check for vans etc. I could actually only see 3 vans, 1 of which was pulling away as I turned into the road but was parked outside the shop at the top. Another had writing on it advertising something or the other signs so presumably a works van being driven by ? Unless he has moved I know a builder living in Hamilton Road so I guess the 3rd van could be his. What I also noticed however, was the inordinate number of ginormous cars (they don't go in for minis or smart cars in Hamilton Road) oh no! Giant 4 x 4s and people carriers of every description this is a road full of people with aspirations driving vehicles as big as vans. I then took a spin past York Road which was fairly full up. This interested me because when I was going home last night at approx 5.00p.m. York Road was almost car free. Does this mean that there are an awful lot of people in York Road who themselves commute to somewhere or other or were all the residents on a day trip? I should say it was approx 6.50a.m. that I was conducting my mini survey. Proves nothing I know but, cars were pulling away in both Clifden Road and Hamilton Road so, if they are just overnight parkers they were out quite early and if they are residents perhaps they were commuting and thereby leaving spaces. I wonder where they park when they commute, perhaps its outside someone's house. |
