Fair point - in the case of the vans it's more deterrent, than cure - the very fact of there actually being a CPZ of any sort is enough to make some people park elsewhere. In addition, they must come from somewhere - let's have what they've got there! The concern is, however, bigger than vans. (Although some of the vans are quite big.) It's the fact that it's now impossible to get a parking space on Hamilton for most of the day - not good, for example, for those residents who have small children (that'll be me then.) There are no parking spaces on Hamilton Road because of the 'day trippers' (commuters and GSK workers) who have been displaced, by the extension of the Brentford station CPZ, into the Griffin Park area. I repeat at this juncture that I KNOW A CPZ WILL TAKE AWAY SOME OF OUR PARKING SPACES but a) probably less than those that are being taken away now and b) if I can't find a parking space, at least I know it's because my fellow residents have taken them all! |
