| Speaking personally I wsould be far happier if a Labour councillor in my ward was an independent and would vote for him tomorrow as I regularly see him around Brentford and he is quite often at local events and engaging with people.I have also had some email contacT with him in the past and it was amicable.I suppose one might expect this behviour from a local councillor, but from what I can gather this is quite the exception rather than the rule, and credit where it is due.I find it very hard to get around the shenanigans that seem to have blighted Labour's reputation locally and therefore I don't feel comfortable endorsing them with my vote.If they had ever come clean and had a clear out of what I see as borderline dodginess, then it might be a different story.Like with the dismaiissal from the party of Guy Lambert,an equally approachable and decent councillor. He was dismissed for speaking against the party line and for holding a reasonable opinion. There was none of the type controversy that some seem to have gotten away and who seem to have the wagons circled around them when they are exposed. |
