| I don't live in Brentford but I have to agree with you - it is preferable that the parties field local candidates who live or work in the ward. If I were a ward member and I had not been able to participate in a normal selection process, but had someone else's choice parachuted in, then I'm afraid I too would take a very dim view of this, and I'd be telling the geniuses behind this that they could get out and do the canvassing and leafletting, but because I as sure as hell wouldn't. With the Waterman's debacle and this insult I have to agree - this is taking the local electorate for mugs. |
