| I went to Twickenham this morning, leaving at 8.30. Rather than going along the A4, which I would usually do, I went via London Road. Usual traffic as I turned left into Twickenham Road. However the tailback going the other way towards the A4 was unbelievable, as far back as the row of shops where Asda is located. However, coming back from Twickenham about 10.45 I decided to risk going down Twickenham Road and it was absolutely fine. So I think the heavy tailbacks occur during peak travel hours. Decided to go down to the A4 to see what is going on. One lane of Syon Lane at Homebase has been closed off and the A4 going west from Boston Manor Road towards Gillette, has intermittently one or two lanes closed. No sign of anyone working on the roads; no idea what is going on or for how long. |
