You have got to be joking! Were I younger - possibly. It breaks my heart to see what has become of the Labour party locally, it is so bad for residents getting engaged with a process that has quite an impact on daily lives. Quite where the principles and understanding of the party's fundamental point as a political party have gone is a mystery, seems to be a game of chancers and playing the big 'I am' so give me the money. I think many of the people involved blow with the wind, were this a Lib-Dem controlled borough for instance - many of them would be found there. I do think the time is right for independents to stand on local issues, if elected they might not be a majority or hold the balance of power, but they could be a right pain in the proverbial and ask some very awkward questions.
