It's now called VED or Vehicle Excise Duty and no longer goes into the Road Fund that once existed.  It just goes into central government finances. It is now based on emissions so you pay less or nothing at all if you have an electric car. https://www.goultralow.com/electric-car-savings/car-tax-calculator/ They need to come up with some ways to reduce the air pollution.  It's not good for us or the planet.
