Just to be correct Adam, L.B.H. hardly helped by originally recommending this application from the Duke for approval, it also had the support of the Dear Leader. It was cohesive action from the local community that persuaded members to refuse it against their officer's advice, and then a lot of money and bloody hard work from small groups to go on to the inquiry. At the end L.B.H. did employ Counsel who was very good and they put up a good show, but they did weaken the case with their original approval of which much was made by the opposing side's Q.C. Not to mention the site also being earmarked for housing - 'human error' so they said. That said it does just go to show that when a local authority works with residents there can be a welcome outcome, if only the council had listened in the first place.
