My understanding is that Ballymore will start in earnest next spring. I believe there are two people still resident in the flats in County Parade and possibly some other residents (plus clearly, some businesses) in occupation. We'd all like to see development start sooner but we also have to be mindful of those who will be disrupted. I have asked for an update on the police station/Watermans sites. The Morrisons proposed development has gone to judicial review and I'd be surprised if that is resolved for many months. Regarding the Watermans Park boats, I have heard today that final agreement has been reached with the boating fraternity that they will vacate the site completely by 31st August. This is a variation of the court order which instructed them to leave by 6 August but allowed them to retain moorings to the piles in the river bed. A developer has been selected for the marina there and I imagine works will start shortly. |
