No you have got it - that is the case. I understand the quirks of the planning system, but I would have thought that one of the officers at Hounslow who you would suppose have talked to Decaux's bods might just have said - it's up to you if you want to stick in an application but it is a residential area and local people are likely to take a dim view of it and if you're asking, members might also take that view and be unlikely to be able to support it - but it's your money and your choice - go ahead. I get that if Decaux want to put in an application for this then they are perfectly within their rights to do so, that doesn't make them right, and for the people living a few yards away from this huge thing - well would you want it as your view when you pull the curtains in the morning? What is wrong with the commercial shopping area opposite where there are large signs aplenty? Probably the landlords there want too much dosh..................... |
