Hopefully they are NOT going to use weedkiller. Only a few notifiable weeds need this - most can be pulled up or hoed up. A weed is just a plant growing in the wrong place. It could be a protected wild flower - or it could be an escaped garden plant - I've spotted a snapdragon growing at the side of the road in the gutter. I smiled and wished it well hoping it will manage to flower (although I did consider removing it to put in my garden) and might yet. Some residents have planted plants around their street trees. However Hounslow Highways don't have a brilliant reputation re landscaping/gardening knowledge as they have damaged at least one carefully landscaped area. The Councils also don't have the funds that they used to have. |
