| Amazing gossip value in 'the Vicars parlour'. If the old vicars are dead, there are the helpers and their families where Sunday conversations might have passed on information. Also trainees and visitors and vicars in nearby parishes they may have chatted to. I understand that Vicars kept diaries and registers which might give you names of people in the parish at that time and other meetings with people involved in the local ministry. |
