Jim, The other night on tv there was a programme (in the Conspiracy series) on the possibility that the "Titanic" was in fact not the "Titanic" but a sister ship (can't recall the name). The suggestion is that the ship was not truly seaworthy, owing to a repair following an earlier collision.....insurance, etc., etc. The eventual split in the side of the ship, shown by the underwater cameras, is in exactly the same place as the alleged 'repair'! Now I was only half-watching the programme, and sat up to attention only late in the film, so although I am shocked, I am not fully au fait with the theories put forward. It sounds horribly plausible though. Did you see the programme? |
